Review by Amy Reynolds
Power noise, per Wikipedia, is defined as “a fusion genre among noise music and various styles of electronic dance music.â€Â There is a new beast in the genre who is going devour the competition.
Dead Hand Projekt, Taury Goforth’s latest music group, began working together early this year. It was originally comprised of Tim Miller of No Last Resort, Taury Goforth, and Jason Scamara. Their self titled debut album releases August 17th with pre-orders available at vendetta-music.com at an affordable $10. Do not let the price depreciate the quality of this CD. It is easily well worth the Hamilton.
Everyone in the industrial scene remembers KMFDM and Front 242; Dead Hand Projekt successfully combines the sound of old school industrial groups such as these and their own sound, creating something original and all their own. This album is a big “FUCK YOUâ€, with lyrics awash in angst, boot stomping beats, violence evoking tones, and “Taste†being the new raunchy dance floor sex song.
This is a definite MUST HAVE for the CD collections of all industrial DJs. I cannot wait to hear “The29StrengthsOfFear†(it easily being my favorite track) booming out of the speakers at my local club so that I can kick some serious ass on the floor and elbow me a few fellow dancers who just happen to get a little too close. This CD is going to spread into every club, for like DHP says, they are the cancer.
