I’m still at a loss for what to say about this. So I’ll let Jason Novak say it from his facebook post.
Dear friends and family, wasn’t sure how to proceed but I see it has already been talked about on Facebook… I just got off the phone with Pat Duffy, and it is confirmed that Jamie Duffy passed away last night. She doesn’t know much and is waiting for a call from the medical examiner, but he was found in his apartment this morning unresponsive. I’m in shock and saddened to the core. He was at Irish Oak last night after work. What after that? Please share if anyone knows. I’m shaking. More soon. Goodbye brother.
If you don’t know who Jamie Duffy was then you haven’t been in the scene for very long. He was an outstanding musician, a great sound technician and an unbelievably friendly guy. I first met Jamie on tour with Chemlab on the East Side Militia tour many many moons ago and he was down to Earth and a lot of fun. I’m sure as more details come to light I’ll update this post, and hopefully we will find out soon where we can send donations to the family in Jamie’s honor. Our scene has lost one of it’s greatest champions today. Rest in peace Jamie, please accept our condolences from the entire COMA Music Magazine staff.
