About Us

COMA Music Magazine is an online magazine covering goth, industrial and related sub-genres of music and the culture surrounding it. Our content includes interviews, live concert footage & photography, concert & CD reviews and more.
COMA includes content covering the Phoenix, Tucson, Baltimore, D.C. and Dallas areas and thanks to our guest reviewers, select events around the world.

COMA was originally founded by j. ward of j. ward photography in 2000 as a goth music and culture website but was abandoned six months later due to lack of support. In October 2006 with the help of Adam Burton, COMA was revived as a online magazine covering rock, punk, goth, industrial, metal and more and started doing live interviews and concert photography. In December 2007 Mic Knight began lending his video skills prompting j. to start shooting live videos himself and also changing all in-person interviews to video from that point forward.

As of the end of June 2010, COMA dropped punk, metal and rock and began focusing exclusively on covering the goth/industrial scene and in a way, taking it back to it’s roots.

The start of 2011 brought more changes to COMA, to stay viable, we started accepting advertisements and we also introduced artist features and our first podcast, The COMA Music Magazine Oontzcast and soon after added Ominous Refrains. As of May 2011 we will be launching our very own live show, Digital Glitch, opening the possibility for live, fan-interactive interviews over Skype.

Others have come and gone before ever even contributing and we are continually looking for more ambitious people to join up with us. If you are interested click here.

COMA’s goal is to give fans of goth/industrial (etc.) a more in-depth view of their favorite bands.
