Jerome Reuter’s music under the name of Rome, is a sombre and solitary creature. The mind’s eye could easily envision a fallen angel watching the human follies and casting its glance to the ground. It is probably less pompous to just listen to these sets as I did; with a bottle of red wine while watching candle lights flicker across the walls. The eighth album (yes, eight albums in only six years) Die Aesthetik der Herrschaftsfreiheit continues this martial folk/ dark ambient voyage with a 3 CD set that plays at 150 minutes. While creating this massive album, Rome sought to use only analogue instruments during a year retreat in Belgium. (more…)
