Jim Semonik is back with the second compilation installment of Electronic Saviors and this time, the ceiling has been lifted to become an even huger and massive compilation. With proceeds going to at least two charities: Gilda’s Club/Cancer Support Community and The Bone Marrow Foundation you get the chance to help others and build your music library. ES Volume 1 was a sold out product on Metropolis Records and with good fortune, I am hoping they have the same scenario with ES Volume 2. The premium edition of ES 2 comes with six CD’s and two digital discs. This compilation clocks at 142 tracks with over 10 hours of play. Seriously, this is a juggernaut of music. (more…)

Binary Park offers up seven new tracks plus three remixes with one of them from their previous album World Collides on The Deviated. This three person act consists of Huw Jones on vocal and both Alfred Gregl and Torben Schmidt creating most of the music. “The Hidden Room†and “Lick the Blade†are both instrumentals and are the weakest points on this album. This episode I took my entire set and went with electronic, bass, dub and dance music. The aggro and terror was left behind this time for the beat and and bass. In the end making a set that made me dance all around my home like a mad man. Anyone with a good set of speakers in their home, car or even a kick ass set of headphones is gonna appreciate this set. If you like the dance music this will be something you will definitely be putting on repeat a few times around. Playing bands like Electrixx, Kids at the Bar and Whitar. Binary Park is the new electro project of Torben Schmidt (Label Manager of Infacted Records), Huw Jones, and Alfred Gregl. They have been touted as having a varied mix of electro elements, from techno to dark EBM, and they do. Unfortunately, it tends to all bleed together into a discombobulated mixture of musical elements that, while layered and diverse, somehow come off sounding dated and overly repetitive. In the few songs that have vocals, they are your typical monotone, breathy whispers that have been done many times before by so many other bands. Some of you may like this sort of overall sound, but I tend to find it boring unless it is being played for the sole purpose of being background music.
