Brent Leitner is probably best know as guitarist and programmer for the Chicago bases group I:Scintilla. Early in 2011 he and his brother, Troy, began writing songs together that eventually became the debut EP from Goodnight Criminals Liars, Thieves, and Pretenders. In the current landscape that is the music industry, it takes a little effort on the part of the fan to seek out new music. We can no longer rely on record labels to break that next, new, cool, band. Fans have to look to small indie labels and the internet to find that new talent. Sometimes it’s as simple as following artists that you’re already like. As a fan of I:Scintilla, I of course follow guitarist and programmer Brent Leitner on Twitter, and it was there, that I was introduced to his side project, Goodnight Criminals. (more…)
