KMFDM

Pittsburgh @ Mr. Small’s Theatre
Review by: Maresa Whitehead

Ester Segarra  It’s been years since KMFDM has visited the City of Bridges, traversed the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, or been captivated by the gothic glass towers at PPG Place. And their fans knew it—they showed up in droves with their black clothing, stompy boots, crazy hair, and intoxication, overrunning Mr. Small’s Theatre (capacity: 650 people), a renovated church-turned-bar-and-show-venue. KMFDM

Santa Ana, CA @ The Observatory

Review by Jaymie Burzette

kmfdm santa ana  It is surprising to me, as someone who has loved industrial music since they were 13 years old, that I had never seen KMFDM perform live before. KMFDM was one of the first Industrial groups I was exposed to back in the mid-90’s, along with Skinny Puppy, Einstürzende Neubauten, Gravity Kills, etc. Needless to say, I was quite excited when I found out about this show. :Interview: Bradley Bills of CHANT: The Human Drum Machine

The infamous front-man of Ministry, Al Jourgensen, once said that he hated drummers because they were all pre-Madonnas. Unfortunately for Jourgensen, he’s never worked with drummer and vocalist Bradley Bills.

Bills, an Austin, Texas resident, is the brains and brawn behind the Tribal-Industrial act CHANT. To describe CHANT, picture a Gothic-Industrial version of the Blue Man Group and trade in their sense of humor for dark and soul-driving intensity. Bills is no ordinary drummer and does not play a typical drum set. Bills’ kit consists of nine drums, a metal percussion set which includes a satellite dish, two five-gallon paint cans and various 30-gallon trashcans.

Fetish Prom 2012: Hex-RX & CHANT
May 26, 2012
Scottsdale, Arizona @ The Venue

Review by: Tiffany Angeney

Ahhhh, the local fetish events here in Arizona. While I am usually not a fan of public fetish (I prefer the bedroom), I will say I do enjoy the music that James Bound brings to the events. This one featured Hex-RX and CHANT. I’ve seen Hex-RX once before this, and CHANT three times. I have to say I was excited to see the boys again! (more…)

COMA Music Magazine Fundraiser 2012

So what is this fundraiser all about? Well, we have shot all our live footage with the same $200 camera for the last five years and now that camera is starting to fail. This presents the perfect opportunity to upgrade to hi def for more awesome videos and the camera I have found? Holy shit is it perfect for live footage.

In addition to that, US Airways busted the main lens I shoot live photography with when we went to Cyber Genetic Winter Fest so that needs to be replaced as well. So that, in a nutshell is what we are trying to accomplish here. Take a look at the incentives and be ready because it goes live at 10am MST March 14th, 2012.
