Suicide Commando

Review by: Tiffany Angeney

When I heard the news that Suicide Commando was touring in America, I knew that I would willingly go into debt to see him play. Thankfully, I didn’t have to. Johan was doing six shows: Philadelphia, Austin, Seattle, Los Angeles (two shows), and Denver. Work let me have time off to at least go to the Philadelphia show, so I booked my tickets and waited anxiously for the show date to arrive. (more…)

Review by: Amy Reynolds

Since the inauguration of the self-titled Dead Hand Projekt album released in 2010, DHP has continually progressed and expanded. It has been a genuine pleasure watching the project develop right before my eyes. Though there is only one EP between the debut and this upcoming release, the band doesn’t leave you without a strong sense of where Dead Hand Projekt is coming from or how big it is going to get. The only thing it leaves you with is a desire for more. (more…)

:Concert Review: Until Death… Festival – Saturday Night

Until Death… Festival Saturday
August 13, 2011
Denver, Colorodo, United States @ Casselman’s Bar & Venue
Review by: Dawne Flanagan

Saturday morning I awoke to a completely dead cellphone. The issue with that was all the info I had regarding J’s flight was on my phone, and I had no way of retrieving it. I needed to replace the battery. I quickly dressed, grabbed my purse and headed out the door before our host, Laura, was out of bed. I’d no idea at what time she would be getting up, and I didn’t want to wake her. I figured I could find a local Best Buy or Verizon store, and everything would be remedied so I could go get J from the airport.

Unfortunately, what was first thought to be a simple stop en route to the airport became an excursion of ridiculous proportions. I finally dropped my search and headed to go get J. I arrived an hour late, with no way of knowing where to find him. I got ahold of Laura, who in turn contacted J for me, so it was just a matter of us finding each other. I was dying for a cup of coffee however, and J, knowing my rabid addiction for caffeine, found me as I was en route to the coffee shoppe. Clever guy, him. (more…)

Looking at the track list you may notice that all the songs are from bands that played Until Death… What a weird coincidence. Oh, and that W.A.S.T.E. track? It’s brand new. You’re welcome.

Digital Glitch #10
Aired: August 9th, 2011

This episode was brought to us by the letters T&D for technical difficulties. Even with the Sesame Street lesson of technology the set still stomped on. While this week we have been starting to attempt moving from one stream to another there was some cut mixes and lost songs in the live show. Putting aside the technical funk in this set, there was still some brand new music from God Module, Readjust and CygnosiC. The finished podcast I have put up here has been duct taped and patched to give you a truly awesome 2 hours of aggressive music.

Guest: Ben Arp of C/A/T, Captive Six, Ben Arp and Crunch Pod Records

If you didn’t get to listen in this Tuesday, you really need to download this episode as we hear from Ben Arp and the new compilation off his label Crunch Pod Records: Justicia Pro Bestia. Justicia Pro Bestia (Justice for Animals) is a collection of artists who believe that animals deserve their own rights and much more. All the proceeds from the sale of this digital compilation will be donated to The Animal Legal Defense Fund. Along with promoting this great album (of which I play 6 songs ) Ben goes on to let us know about the upcoming new releases coming out on Crunch Pod this Fall, and also the upcoming releases with his own projects. If this is not a good enough reason to listen, just get this to hear me literally trip over my own tongue in trying to introduce Ben Arp in the interview. Really stompy set with new music from Gothsicles, Alien Vampires, Manufactura and Uberbyte to name just a few.

Justicia Pro Bestia Compilation (Crunch Pod Records) – GO BUY IT! Great Cause for the animals!

Dead Hand Projekt – (Self Titled)
Released: August 17, 2010
Label: Vendetta Music

Review by Amy Reynolds

Dead Hand ProjektPower noise, per Wikipedia, is defined as “a fusion genre among noise music and various styles of electronic dance music.”  There is a new beast in the genre who is going devour the competition.

Dead Hand Projekt, Taury Goforth’s latest music group, began working together early this year.  It was originally comprised of Tim Miller of No Last Resort, Taury Goforth, and Jason Scamara.  Their self titled debut album releases August 17th with pre-orders available at vendetta-music.com at an affordable $10.  Do not let the price depreciate the quality of this CD.  It is easily well worth the Hamilton.
