March 30, 2012 brought us the highly anticipated release of Detroit Diesel’s new album Coup d’Etat. Originally formed in 2006 to fill a growing void in the EBM scene and signing with Deathwatch Asia in 2009, they have come to be known for their sleek military aesthetic, as well as what they deliver in visceral, thoughtful music. My first experience with DD was at the 11/11/11 I Love Industrial event in Philadelphia, and I was utterly blown away by their live performance, as well as their friendliness and approachability.
