Jim Semonik is back with the second compilation installment of Electronic Saviors and this time, the ceiling has been lifted to become an even huger and massive compilation. With proceeds going to at least two charities: Gilda’s Club/Cancer Support Community and The Bone Marrow Foundation you get the chance to help others and build your music library. ES Volume 1 was a sold out product on Metropolis Records and with good fortune, I am hoping they have the same scenario with ES Volume 2. The premium edition of ES 2 comes with six CD’s and two digital discs. This compilation clocks at 142 tracks with over 10 hours of play. Seriously, this is a juggernaut of music. (more…)

:Music News: WTII Records Release Sampler and Announce Spring Releases
The Chicago based label that has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of the defunct Wax Trax Records, has announced the release of a free Spring sampler.  The sampler contains twelve tracks, all of which are exclusive remixes, unreleased demo versions or new tracks from an upcoming album.
The comp provides the first glimpse at the upcoming releases from: Stromkern, Dead on TV, Rein[Forced], Am.Psych and SMP due out this spring. The remixes from Trigger 10d, Method Cell, Stiff Valentine, The Gothsicles, Lowe, Klutae and The Qualia are all new as well. Quick! Tell me what comes from Sweden?
If you said ready-to-assemble furniture with funky little tools you are half-right. The other half of the answer is music, Sweden is the third largest music exporter in the world behind the USA and UK, and specifically some of the best, most pure synthpop in the world. Continuing in this tradition is the band Lowe, formed in 2003 in Stockholm and comprised of Leo Josefsson, Rickard Gunnarsson and Tobias Ersson. Their first album, Tenant released in 2004 received international acclaim and was followed in 2008 by Kino International with equally deserved praise. Now, in 2011 they are ready to unleash their third album Evolver, and the title is certainly appropriate. (more…)
:News: WTII Records Release Schedule
Chicago based independent record label WTII, set up in 2001 by former WaxTrax! General Manager Bart Pfanenstiel, has been gracious enough to let COMA Music Magazine get a peek at their schedule of upcoming releases.
In addition to the Klutæ Electro Punks Unite CD released July 12, upcoming releases include a new album from The Gothsicles entitled Industrialites & Magic on August 9th, a digital single, “Breathe In Breathe Out”, from Lowe on July 19th followed by a full album, Evolver, on September 13th as well as a new album from Rein[Forced], X Amount of Stabwounds in the Back, later this year.
