Rammstein.

In your head you’re hearing the trilling “R” and hard accent on the “ST” as the name is spat out in your mind. There is no secret who Rammstein are or what they do. Everyone who likes them has seen Volkerball, or at least the pirated copies on YouTube, heard the albums and knows the music and especially the voice that towers over it. So obviously, I was well prepared with detailed expectations of what this show would encompass and the performance I would behold. And certainly I saw some of what I had known ahead of time I would witness. However, the actual reality of experiencing Rammstein live for the first time exceeded my, what I now understand in hindsight, paltry expectations. Indeed, my preconceptions of the event were barely a glimpse the actual power of the encounter. (more…)
