:2012 Year in Review: Mary Bauer – Your Friendly Neighborhood Publicist
It’s that time of year again; the time when we have to list our favorite releases of the past twelve months. It’s that time year again where I realize that I am very behind in my music purchases and try to choose my best release of the year. I am behind in my purchases once again this year but I have no trouble deciding my favorite of 2012. (more…)

Various Artists – Electronic Saviors Volume II Recurrence
Release Date: May 8, 2012
Label: Metropolis Records
Website: electronicsaviors.com
Review by: DeVico
Jim Semonik is back with the second compilation installment of Electronic Saviors and this time, the ceiling has been lifted to become an even huger and massive compilation. With proceeds going to at least two charities: Gilda’s Club/Cancer Support Community and The Bone Marrow Foundation you get the chance to help others and build your music library. ES Volume 1 was a sold out product on Metropolis Records and with good fortune, I am hoping they have the same scenario with ES Volume 2. The premium edition of ES 2 comes with six CD’s and two digital discs. This compilation clocks at 142 tracks with over 10 hours of play. Seriously, this is a juggernaut of music. (more…)

Digital Glitch #28
Aired: January 24, 2012

Digital Glitch 28, coming at you in full stereo for your face! This set begins with the letter I and gets to the letter P! Are you ready for this kind of abuse? It is gonna get so nasty on the mic, you might just have to be tested after hearing it! This week I give my two cents on how the media chooses what they want to make into a movie and how absolutely wrong they were to NOT make the movie Bioshock. Do you find the word cougar offensive, or would you be offended if your child went to a school with this mascot? A whole lot of ranting, good music and just typical GlitchMode BS in this episode #28! So get ready for some more mind blowing orgasmic tune release! HERE COMES THE BEATS!

De/vision – Popgefahr – The Mix
Label: Metropolis Records
Release Date: October 25, 2011
Website: devision-music.de
Review by: Dawne Flanagan
Devision’s album, Popgefahr (which translates roughly to “you know it’s just another synthpop, dancey-beat album with emo lyrics but you love it anyway†in English) was released in 2010. The obligatory remix album, cleverly named Popgefahr – The Mix, was released this past October. In the underground electronica scene, remixes are a way for acts to gain subversive exposure (or for the boys of Icon of Coil to keep the name alive outside of their reunion shows.) (more…)

Mesh – An Alternative Solution
Release Date: May 24, 2011
Label:Â Metropolis
Website: mesh.co.uk
Review by: Neska Lapicki
Far too often a remix album is comprised of a few select tracks remixed repeatedly, with an obvious lean toward the dance floor. Not so, here. Rather than a series of oontzy beats and extended club versions, An Alternative Solution is exactly that, offering up the same 11 tracks in the same order as A Perfect Solution with each remixed by a different artist.
