What is there really to say about Rammstein? If you’re reading this ‘zine and you don’t know who Rammstein are either you live under a rock and wear blinders or, and much more likely, you clicked the wrong link. The Berlin band comprised of singer Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul H. Landers, bassist Oliver “Ollie” Riedel, drummer Christoph “Doom” Schneider and keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz, has probably had the biggest impact on the industrial metal scene of this generation. With over twenty platinum albums, nineteen top-20 singles in their native Germany and consistently sold out shows in arenas across the globe, there isn’t much that this group of musicians who grew up under the shadow of the Deutsche Demokratische Republik have not accomplished. Their music and lyrics are so symbolic of what makes them who they are that entitling their double disc “Greatest Hits” collection Made In Germany 1995 – 2011 appropriate. (more…)
