:Podcast: Catacombs – Episode Seven

CATACOMBSI’m baaaaaaaack! Well rested.. and with old club treats for the dark and depraved. One could not just go to a goth club back in the 80’s and early 90’s. The Gothic scene was intertwined with the early Industrial and EBM scene. One would go from hearing Bauhaus to early Minsitry in a space of 10 minutes. To make up for my absence last week.. I present to you.. a small taste of those tunes. (more…)

:Download: Tainted Candy: A Tribute to 80s New Wave

It started with this idea: the goth/industrial scene was highly influenced by the 80′s New Wave scene and some of the bands in our little band of misfits even started out playing New Wave. Therefore, it only seemed natural to pay tribute to the music of the 80′s New Wave scene with our own goth/industrial compilation.

When this compilation was first announced in early August we got a flood of interest right off the bat. We waited patiently, getting a rough draft here and there and getting more and more confident that this was going to be one hell of a collection. Well, it’s finally here. This is the moment you have been waiting for: the release of our awesome New Wave tribute compilation, Tainted Candy. (more…)

:Music News: Ministry Nominated for a Golden God Award

While I refuse to jump on the Ministry as a metal band bandwagon, they have been nominated for a Golden God Award from Revolver Magazine. Here’s the skinny.

Relapse, the thirteenth album from industrial metal dominators MINISTRY, has been going to war with sales and radio numbers since its worldwide release via frontman Al Jourgensen’s own Thirteenth Planet Records and AFM Records on March 26th. Having landed at #154 on the US Billboard’s Top 200, #32 on Billboard’s Independent Record Chart and #19 on Billboard’s Top Hard Music Chart, Relapse currently stands at #6 on CMJ’s Loud Rock Charts. :CD Review: Ministry – Relapse

Ministry – Relapse
Label: AFM/13th Planet Records
Release date: March 27, 2012

Review by: Gabe Wilkinson

Back when Ministry let it be known to the world that old Uncle Al was retiring from the world of Ministry my heart cried. More than a little. It’s no secret that I love Ministry. I love everything about Ministry. I love With Sympathy, I love Twitch, I can even find stuff to love about Dark Side of the Spoon. The thought of never hearing another Ministry record was a thought I didn’t want to live with. I had no choice though. Then out of the blue an album I had been waiting nearly 25 years to hear was sent to me, what is this? Buck Satan and the 666 Shooters was laying in front of me and I had new music from ole Al himself, or Buck. I thought to myself; I wonder if Al will want to do another Ministry record just for shits and giggles and since he was working with Mike on Buck Satan it would seem easy enough to do. Then as if I had just rubbed my genitals against a magic lamp the announcement was made of Al’s return to Ministry, his “RELAPSE”.

Hey there music freaks! Sorry about the day late upload. SO GET IT NOW!

The time is now and Digital Glitch Episode 18 is about to blow out your speakers! This set was built on a theme behind it as well, and its theme was death. Any tracks having to do with death, die and dying. So it’s a very grim set especially with it being only one more week from Halloween! But do not think for a moment that this mix of music will not have you moving your ass! I have some brand new tracks from Acylum, Skinny Puppy, Binary Park and Traumatize to tantalize your taste buds as well. So let us all get our drinks ready and move all the stuff off the shelves on the wall, because the bass will not be responsible for anything it breaks! LET’S DO THIS! The dead will arise to the nasty bass beats of aggression!

:News: Al Jourgensen announces new Ministry Album and Tour

In 2008 after the conclusion of the C U LaTour it seemed the history of one of the driving forces of industrial metal was no more.  After 25 years, eleven albums (two certified Gold and one certified Platinum) and who know how many miles of hard living, the band that defined industrial metal for an entire generation called it quits.

But on August 7, 2011, Jourgensen announced that Ministry would perform at the Wacken Open Air festival August 2 through August 4, 2012 in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.  And today in Metal Hammer, Jourgensen further announced a brand new Ministry Album and Tour with four shows in the US and perhaps upto 20 in Europe.
