So I’ve been driving around my city for the last couple weeks, blasting APOK and feeling invincible. I’m pretty sure there aren’t really enough adjectives in the English language to adequately describe how amazing this album is, so I apologize in advance if I repeat myself a little. APOK is iVardensphere’s third full studio release and an absolute game changer. True to form, the one thing you can expect is to not know what to expect. Full of surprises, collaborations, lyrics, and a fearless forward motion, APOK is a shining testament to a band who has fully hit the ground running. (more…)

iVardensphere: Beats, Blood and Boris!

iVardensphere is a band that doesn’t so much defy genre as embrace and incorporate lots and lots of them. Launched in 2008 and most often referred to as tribal industrial, iVardensphere’s sound is more easily recognizable by what it isn’t than anything else. Far from the generic 4/4 oontz oontz oontz that inundates much of the club scene, Scott Fox (DJ @ SICK, Das OOntz), Chris Lacroix (Virtual Terrorist), Yann Faussurier (Camanecroszcope, iszolosocpe, Memmaker) and Frederic Scarfone (Katastroslavia, iszoloscope, Memmaker) bring forth an audacious and absolutely fearless blend of musical styles that allows each song to go exactly where it needs to.
