:Podcast: Empire – Episode 1

Welcome to our newest weekly podcast, Empire. You may be familiar with the DJ on this one as he was one of the DJs on the now defunct COMA Radio with his show, The Smoak Room (In fact, the intro says this is The Smoak Room but after recording we decided to go with a new name.). Yes, that’s right, we brought DJ Smoak over to the dork side.

In this 1st episode DJ Smoak will introduce to you bands he’s been concentrating on for most of the year.
You will hear synth-pop, harsh ebm, industrial-metal & a goth track for good measure!
Hopefully the next episode will have even newer tracks from these bands and more!

Digital Glitch #10
Aired: August 9th, 2011

This episode was brought to us by the letters T&D for technical difficulties. Even with the Sesame Street lesson of technology the set still stomped on. While this week we have been starting to attempt moving from one stream to another there was some cut mixes and lost songs in the live show. Putting aside the technical funk in this set, there was still some brand new music from God Module, Readjust and CygnosiC. The finished podcast I have put up here has been duct taped and patched to give you a truly awesome 2 hours of aggressive music.

:Rivet: Vigilante – The New Resistance

Vigilante – The New Resistance
Release Date: March 25, 2011
Label: Artoffact Records
Website: vigilante.cl

Review by: Michael Faries

Outspoken South American musician Ivan Munoz returned in March with a new Vigilante album, The New Resistance, pumping fists with a diverse faction of musicians from various groups ranging from Atari Teenage Riot to Public Enemy.  While-musically-that may seem like an odd mixture, the message behind the groups is the tie that binds them in The New Resistance.  And that’s what this album is all about, according to Vigilante:  “Railing against a perceived erosion of civil liberties, totalitarianism and media control, the lyrics of  The New Resistance  insist that there are still dreams to fight for, truths to be told and ideals worth dying for!” (more…)

:News: Hanin Elias returns with new CD

HANIN ELIAS, a living icon of the 90s, riot girl, front woman, founding member of ATARI TEENAGE RIOT and of Fatal Recordings. Now Hanin returns with a new album called “Get it back”. The long-awaited and much anticipated album is a bridge between Elias’s familiar digital hardcore style and her newfound explorations in other genres.  This is a strong release with lot’s of interesting collaborations that happened over the years of Hanin Elias absence from the music scene. While she lived in French Polynesia on a small island in the south pacific for 5 years she worked on new material with Chilean musician Diego Sagredo (ICI) who invited her for shows in Santiago. Influences are widely spread and unpredictable as always. Hanin Elias wants her listeners to have an open mind and an open heart for all kinds of musical directions. (more…)
