VNV Nation. Is there really much else a person can say about the importance and prolificness of this band that hasn’t already been said? Love them or hate them, there is no denying how much Ronan Harris and Mark Jackson (yes, I know Ronan Harris is the main composer, but can you imagine VNV without Mr. Jackson???) have done to bring our shadowed corner of the musical world into the light for the past 16 years. They have drawn ire from some “underground†music elitists for their refusal to compromise their vision; they have composed and performed the music they want without bending to the whims of critics and nay-sayers alike, and they should be applauded for that. They are what true underground music is all about. To dismiss them simply because they’ve garnered more popularity than some others is to dismiss true art in favor of silly elitism. Love it or hate it, facts are facts. With that being said, let’s move on to what is probably the best release VNV Nation has produced since Futureperfect, the epic Automatic. (more…)
:News: VNV Nation Announce North American Tour Dates and Album Release
In support for the release of AUTOMATIC, their widely-anticipated eighth studio album on Anachron America on September 27, 2011, electronic rock pioneers VNV NATION have announced a national tour that will launch in Los Angeles on November 16 at The Mayan Theater and will circle the States and wrapping up in Atlanta, GA on December 13th at Masquerade. With each set clocking in at two hours or more, this tour will be a special extended live event. German electronic dance outfit Straftanz will support all dates. (tour dates below) (more…)

:News: VNV Nation Release “Automatic” Announced
From the band’s website:
The new VNV Nation album “AUTOMATIC” will be released in September. The album has been in production for a while and so far it looks to be an incredibly energetic and anthemic release (and then some). We’ll be premiering some of the new songs at our show at the Nordstern Festival in Hamburg in July and snippets and previews will be posted online over the Summer. There’s so much we want to tell you about this album and what we have planned around it but we prefer to keep it a surprise, for the moment. There are lots of things planned that we’ve never attempted before and we’re really excited about it.

VNV Nation is a music group that is a must see when they tour. With the combination of Ronan Harris’ lyrics and Mark Jackson’s music talent, these two are sure to put on a superbly entertaining performance. This concert was no exception.
The venue was impressive. Pop’s is an indoor facility with a full bar, darts, pool, restrooms, plenty of floor space, tables situated in the rear of the floor, and a closed in beer garden. Though not very large, it did not lack space for the guests. The building was clean and the staff was very friendly. A food stand was parked at the front entrance with a selection broad enough to sate anyone’s appetite.
